About one in three orders, traced back to AI.

What a new UK skincare shop saw in its first 12 weeks, and what we could and couldn’t measure.

First ten orders

Three of the shop’s first ten orders came through ChatGPT.

AI orders by month

July, August and September 2026.

10 July to 5 October 2026, from the shop’s own Shopify reports. These are small numbers: 34 orders in total.

The shop

The Medispa Edit sells genuine SkinCeuticals skincare to customers in the UK, as an authorised stockist. It took its first order on 10 July 2026.

It is co-owned by Neety Jain, who is also a co-founder of AIxprt. That is why we can show you its numbers.

What happened

On 4 August 2026 the shop took its seventh order. Shopify recorded where the customer came from: chatgpt.com. They had landed on a product page.

Real orders, seen in the Shopify mobile app. Order and customer details are cropped out.

The next two orders also came through ChatGPT. By 5 October, eleven of the shop’s 34 orders had been traced back to an AI assistant.

People arriving from ChatGPT were also much more likely to buy. Ten of 70 visits ended in an order, against fewer than two in every hundred visits across the shop as a whole.

What we changed

One thing, on 12 July 2026. We added structured product information to every product page, so that software can read the price, the stock, the brand, the returns policy and the delivery details without guessing.

Shopify already provides some of the basics by default, such as a sitemap and product feeds.

We can’t say this change caused the orders. The first AI order came about three weeks after it. That is timing, not proof.

What we couldn’t measure

We would rather show you the gaps than hide them.

Eleven is a minimum

For 13 of the 34 orders, Shopify recorded no source at all. The real number of AI orders could be higher.

Only ChatGPT is clear

Visits from Gemini can’t be separated out in Shopify. We saw no orders from Perplexity or Claude.

No before and after

We weren’t yet recording which questions the shop was named for, so we can’t show how its visibility changed.

What we took from it

AI was a real source of orders from the first weeks. For a shop this new, that was not what we expected.

The visitors arrived ready to buy. On these small numbers, a visit from ChatGPT was worth several ordinary visits.

Tracking has to start on day one. The questions we can’t answer here are the reason AIxprt measures every week.
